  4. Respond to this:  What would you do if you woke up one morning to find yourself invisible? 
  5. Open your January Vocab Document---Add "prosecute"--define and add a picture
  6. 15 minutes today for MOBY
Type your TIQA paragraph today-----MLA Format--Size 12, Times New Roman, double spaced (See Mrs. Bearden's Example)  Remember the opening sentence needs all 3 of these elements packed into a smooth concise sentence!

  4. If there is additional time, make sure you have your TIQA worksheet completed and ready to construct your paragraph during our next class!

  3. Respond to this: If you were given $10, what would you opt to do with it?
  4. Complete  TIQA Assignment---add your quote and page number today!  Be careful and exact in typing your quote.  Explain how this  quotes shows your "THEME" and supports your topic sentence!  (You need 2-3 sentences for this part!)---Show this to Mrs. Bearden on your Screen before leaving today for your daily points!
  5. Turn in your completed Quote Sheet for Flowers for Algernon!

January 20 & 21, 2021

  4. Complete QUOTE Assignment--turn in
  5. Begin TIQA Assignment-- (9:00)
  6. Open New GOOGLE DOC--- MLA FORMAT for upper left corner--and starter sentence--see example---make yours look similar to the example. (THIS SHOULD BE DONE!!---FIND IT)
  7. Discuss Flowers for Algernon Themes--Quotes--WORK TIME
  8. Use evidence transitions from the bookmark above in your TIQA paragraph.
  9. MOBY--10 minutes today

  2. Open your Journal Entries
  3. Type Today's date
  4. Respond to this:  Construct a letter to a new incoming 7th Grader.  Start the entry out with DEAR 7th GRADER,  and your job is to type a letter to a new incoming 7th grader with advice for them.   Feel free to discuss results that can bring success and actions that might not be good choices for them.  Be specific of things they should and should not do.  Be specific, give directions for specific teachers.  Let this new student know what is expected and what they can expect from their different teachers.  (Today's response may be a bit longer--and that is great!)
  5. Open your December "Vocab Document"--add "piecemeal "--add a definition and picture!
  6. MOBY--15 minutes today! (Daily Grade given for this--1st Grade of the 9 weeks!  Get yourself a good start!)
  7. Complete the "Quote" sheet from Flowers for Algernon---Turn it in today!

  1. Journal Entry:  Type today's date--If you could tell this year's 6th Graders the number one secret to "Success in 7th Grade" is, what would you tell them--and is there anything you wished you had known before you got to 7th Grade?
  2.  "Flowers for Algernon" quote sheet!---Use the story to find examples of each idea.  Record your page number as well!

  3. Create a New Document "January Vocab Document"--add "pantomime" --define and add a picture!
  4. Show Mrs. Bearden your Flowers for Algernon Vocab in your Quizlet you created.  (Online Students--share your link showing your work)--Daily Points given for this!
  5. Spend 10 minutes studying words and definitions for Friday Quiz.
  6. Class Discussion about THEME's for Flowers For Algernon!

 TUESDAY:

  1. Print your November/December Vocab Document---Make sure you have MLA format for your name and general class information in the upper left corner as you were shown yesterday.
  2. Journal Entries:  You will be submitting November 1st- January 4th Journal Entries today!  Please look over your entries.  
    • All stand alone letter "I's" are capital?
    • You have a minimum of 2 good sentences? 
    • All sentences begin with a capital and end with some sort of ending punctuation?
    • Have you used a conjunction (and, but, or)?  What about because, however?  Do you have a comma in front of any of those words?  Should you?
    • Each entry has a date?
    If your journal entries have been proofed and they look good you are almost ready to print.  Make sure you have your name typed above the  1st Entry!  Print them--staple them---turn them in

  3. MOBY TIME--Language Skills--you are working to have 100% of your K-5 skills completed by the end of November!   EVERYONE WILL PUT IN 10 Minutes today!! 
  4. Make sure you have your FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON VOCAB QUIZLET Created! Vocab Quiz on Friday!!

  1. Open  your November/December Journal--
  2. Count how many entries you have.  Compare that number with someone else in the room.  If you have a different number--compare dates and entries---see what is missing!
  3. Run Grammarly on your work
  4. Do you have 2 sentences at least for every entry? Commas in front of transition words (and, but, so, yet...)  Capital stand alone "I"?
  5. Type Today's date
  6. Respond to this: How did you do at keeping up with entries this time?  Are you ready to print this assignment tomorrow?
  7. Open November/December Vocab Document---Add "malady"--define and add a picture--  (keep using this document too for now!)
  8. FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON---access the vocab list from our story and create a quizlet for studying---we will take a Quiz over the vocab words on Friday!
