Respond to this:  If given the choice for next year, and you had to commit for the entire year, would you choose to be a virtual student for the entire year or be a face to face learner for the year? Explain the reasoning behind your choice and why you think you would choose this option. (Remember---your choice would be for the entire school year---there would not be an option for changing your mind part way through!)
  3. Pick up a M-Step Skill Builder from the front of the room--complete the 2 sample questions (We will correct them at the end of the hour--it is your ticket out the door)  Online students---I will put something in Google Classroom tomorrow for you!--Check there tomorrow for your sample M-Step Practice items!
  4. Log into MOBY- Complete the 2 Lessons today that were assigned to you "Commas with Adjectives"---you can have them reset so you can get 100% and an opportunity to learn --so you can do well on the Test Lesson on Friday!
  5. We will finish reading Tales today of people in class that need to do this!  Anyone at home who has not done this will be expected to complete this when they return!

  4. MOBY TIME---You have a "Test" set today over the Types of Sentences you have been working on today---do your best---let's see how you do!
  5. Share your Tale with someone---read it out loud to them---and have them do the same!---Share thoughts and give ideas if they need to make some changes----can you identify the "Lesson" to be learned from their tale?  Offer suggestions if needed!
  6. FINISH YOUR ROUGH DRAFT FOR YOUR TALE!  It must be typed and ready to go for next week!

  2. RESPOND TO THIS:  List at least 10 fairy tales you can recall---Google for ideas if you can't think of 10 on your own!!  (You can include Nursery Rhymes too!)
INTRODUCTION ACTIVITY--FAIRY TALES & PERSPECTIVE

  1.  Look at picture----Create a Headline for it! Remember it is larger font and will catch the readers attention!! (Type it on your computer using “Word” or a PPT SLIDE)
  2. Snip the picture above and paste it onto your document
  3. Create a caption---remember this is factual information that tells what you know about the picture.  It is smaller writing and will be 1-2 complete sentences below the  picture. 
  4. Save it to your document folder as “Hoodwinked Clipping”—
  5. Email your Document as an Attachment to Mrs. Bearden!

  4.  Proof Read Your  Journal Entries!  Check to make sure you have good first grade sentences. Are your "I's" capital when needed?  Any blue, green or red lines?  Fix them!
  5. Make sure your Font is Times NEW ROMAN and SIZE 12
  6.  ON THE TOP OF THE FIRST PAGE -MLA FORMAT!
  7. PRINT and staple your pages if you have more than one.
  8. Turn in your Journal Entries!
  9. Open your 7th Grade Essay---give it one last look!  MLA Format (size 12, Times New Roman, Double spaced)
  10. Print your essay---Staple it on top of your Graphic Organizer Packet! --You must turn everything in for full credit today!

  6. MOBY---A Grade Level Test has been assigned to you!  Take your time and complete it today!  Do your best and help show some personal growth!

  4. Respond to this:  Write about something you desperately wanted when you were younger.  
  5. Review Your  Journal Entries -- all your entries through today!
  6. Using MLA format, please add your name and information needed in the upper left corner of your Journal.
  7. Do you have 2 complete sentences for each entry.--Please read them all!  Do they make sense?  (If you are willing--trade places with someone and have them do this for you and you return the favor for their entries!)
  8. Are all your "I"'s capitalized? (FIX THEM!!)
    1. Did you begin any of your sentences with "BECAUSE"---if so, place a comma in front of the word because and make the "B" a small "b"!  NOW --do you still have 2 sentences? (IF NOT --ADD ANOTHER)!!!
  9. Do you have words like and, but, so, yet, in any of your entries?  Do they have a comma in front of them? ---(FIX THEM)!!
  10. Check with someone else--do you have the same number of Journal Entries?  Did you miss one?  NOW IS THE TIME TO ENTER IT AND GET CREDIT FOR IT!!
  11. Partner up with a friend to make one last look at your paper.  Talk about edits you have made to it already or help them make changes that still need to be made.
  12. Use today to get anything missing or needing to be completed---today is your "CATCH UP DAY"

March 3 & 4, 2021

  1. Enter today's Date---Journal Entry----Were you ever locked in or out?  What did you do?  (Of your house or your car?  Anything--it is your story!)  (Remember we are working to create 2 sentences for each entry!!!)  
  2. Open your  "Vocab Document" add "pessimist" define and add a picture!
  3. MOBY Time---LOG IN---Look for the ICON 

  4. Your job is to read the story that appears for you today!  Take your time!  Read Carefully---Answer the questions---your score will count today!  DO YOUR BEST!!
  5. Partner up with someone to have them read your 7th Grade Essay---help them make changes!  
  6. Mrs. Bearden will be meeting with you to talk about your Moby Language Progress today!

  5. Open your Vocab Document, add the word, CLOUT----  complete it by adding a definition and picture.  (Check with others in class on how many entries we have for this document so far!)
  6.  You need to write a draft and have your packet completed today.Type your "conclusion" paragraph for your Essay. (You should have 5 complete paragraphs typed today)!

  4. MOBY Time---Everyone take a MOBY TEST today!  Use the Orange test icon in the bottom row to access the one that has been assigned to you!
  5.  WORK TIME on Writing Assignment:  Draft of Introduction paragraph should be typed.  Get another person to proof your introduction paragraph before you---show it to Mrs. Bearden for credit
  6. Make sure you have MLA name information typed in the upper left corner.  Your paper is in  Size 12 Times New Roman Font, double spaced!! 
  7. Fill in 3 "Squares" of details for your first essay item. Using the packet---and create sentences on the coordinating packet sheet for your first body paragraph. Draft the next paragraph (See example below!)  Get this typed today!

  8. Read your TIQA paragraph one last time.  Is it indented?  Did you use Times New Roman, Size 12 font?  Is it double spaced? Does it read smoothly and make sense?  Did you remove any "personal pronouns"?   Are you ready to print your final draft? Print and Turn in today!
  9. MOBY--  New test has been assigned to you today!  Take your time, do your best!  (Look for the Orange Test Icon in the bottom row!)

Respond to this:  Construct a letter to a new incoming 7th Grader.  Start the entry out with DEAR 7th GRADER,  and your job is to type a letter to a new incoming 7th grader with advice for them.   Feel free to discuss results that can bring success and actions that might not be good choices for them.  Be specific of things they should and should not do.  Be specific, give directions for specific teachers.  Let this new student know what is expected and what they can expect from their different teachers.  (Today's response may be a bit longer--and that is great!)

    • Have you used a conjunction (and, but, or)?  What about because, however?  Do you have a comma in front of any of those words?  Should you?
    • Each entry has a date?
    If your journal entries have been proofed and they look good you are almost ready to print.  Make sure you have your name typed above the  1st Entry!  Print them--staple them---turn them in

 Monday:

  1. Open  your November/December Journal--
  2. Count how many entries you have.  Compare that number with someone else in the room.  If you have a different number--compare dates and entries---see what is missing!
  3. Run Grammarly on your work
  4. Do you have 2 sentences at least for every entry? Commas in front of transition words (and, but, so, yet...)  Capital stand alone "I"?
  5. Type Today's date
  6. Respond to this: How did you do at keeping up with entries this time?  Are you ready to print this assignment tomorrow?
  7. Open November/December Vocab Document---Add "malady"--define and add a picture--  (keep using this document too for now!)
  8. FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON---access the vocab list from our story and create a quizlet for studying---we will take a Quiz over the vocab words on Friday!
